Q. Can I get my documents in the post?

A. Yes. We will happily post your documents to you, and a quick call to us on 0800 230 0225 is all it takes. Our preference is to send documents via email, as it’s quicker and more environmentally friendly. It also helps keep our costs down, which helps us keep our prices down.

Q. My self-build insurance includes home cover. Do I need a separate Home insurance policy?

A. If you have purchased one of our Self-build insurance policies it will automatically convert to a basic building and contents policy – covering the period between the completion of the construction phase, and the end of the policy. This provides basic cover, which may not be sufficient for your needs, as there are limitations in terms of limits and what is covered.

Should you purchase a separate Home insurance policy, many of which are designed to cover a much broader range of risks, the cover provided by the building and contents section of our Self-Build policy will pay only a proportion of any claim during the period of cover. It is standard practice that where two insurance policies cover the same risk, the respective insurers pay proportional amounts.
